Supplier Enablement
EDI-capable companies have traditionally focused their EDI resources
on supporting customer needs and have established trading relations
with their most strategic ones. However, they typically exchange
EDI documents with only a handful of suppliers because many smaller
and medium-sized suppliers cannot exchange mission-critical business
documents electronically. Enabling these non-EDI-capable suppliers
to conduct EDI with a low-cost Web application extends the use of
a company's existing EDI assets and benefits several areas (purchasing
eliminates faxing POs, warehouse/operations begin receiving ASNs
and accounts payable can receive invoices electronically).
MISG provides a program that enables suppliers to exchange EDI documents
with EDI-capable buyers. We utilize Webinar education forums, direct
marketing techniques, strategic development with industry partners
and a simple Web application to drive implementation. MISG's WebDX
is the base application for Supplier Enablement and enables non-EDI-capable
suppliers to send, receive, view, download, print, archive, manage
and create return EDI business transactions.
We have provided a Supplier Enablement white paper for you that
depicts the current state of most up-channel supply chains and the
benefits of enabling smaller suppliers (sellers) to exchange EDI
documents with EDI-capable companies (buyers). The paper has been
made available by MISG's strategic business partner, Global eXchange
Services (GXS). It may be distributed to anyone within your company
or any of your business partners.
